L’Estartit and the Montgrí massif are prime areas for climbing enthusiasts. Very close to the campsite, you will find a wide variety of climbing routes for all levels.
*Before planning your climb, it is essential to consult the regulations of the Montgrí, Medes Islands and Baix Ter Natural Park to ensure that the areas and routes are open and permitted at the time of your visit.
DIVING
L’Estartit is one of the best places on the Costa Brava for scuba diving, thanks to the proximity of the Medes Islands, a protected marine reserve with spectacular biodiversity.
To guarantee safety and respect for the marine environment, you must go to authorized diving centers to carry out dives responsibly and within the regulations of the Montgrí, Medes Islands and Baix Ter Natural Park.
In the 1980s, the area began to be developed, raising the land to build houses. Streets were opened, a breakwater was built and a first housing complex was consolidated. However, in the early 1990s, the economic crisis stopped the project and the development was abandoned. This opened the door to a new tourism model that was more respectful of the territory, and it was decided to protect La Pletera as a natural space. From then on, various ecological restoration actions were carried out to recover the wetlands and their biodiversity.
